Zac Brown Band and John Mayer - Comfortably Numb
Lately, the questions in my ask box have primarily been about John and Katy. It’s really fun discussing with you guys and I love getting your opinions about stuff, but I thought I’d intercept for a minute with what really matters, his music. And plus, John hasn’t really been in the media lately because of his guitar abilities either, so… I watched this performance last night with the biggest smile on my face.
In between all the gossip madness I think we just need to hear him play and let us know that he’s still here, you know? And boy did we hear him. This performance rendered me speechless. In my opinion, this is one of the best appearances he’s done in a long, long time. His playing on this is admirable. Perfect balance of give and take. Edgy but not overblown. Warm and smooth but with brilliantly biting licks. He’s got so much authority with a guitar in hand, and you can just tell when he gets into it. It’s devotion.
“I start playing guitar and I can make you forget that you ever saw a glossy magazine and that has to do with the power of music and being authentic.” — JM
True that, Johnny! Thank you for that…
And to see John and Clay play together like that; really special and heart-warming. Whilst watching the two of them shred and work off each other, images and tapes of them just starting out in Atlanta popped up in my mind, and just look at them now! So f u c k i n g cool.
Everything is about the music!
I was tryin’ to find this like a crazzzzzzzzzy, fucking fucking good, chills!
Comfortably numb
The chills. So happy they’re playing together again.
